Editorial – November 2011

Welcome to the latest issue of the Yellow Sheet, back after a brief hiatus while the new Informals committee has taken shape. As I step into Addy’s shoes as Editor, I’m reminded that an anonymous wit once remarked that one of the principal tasks of an editor is to proofread carefully to make sure nobody any words out.

As you may have noticed by virtue of being here (!), this month also sees the launch of the new Yellow Sheet blog. That’s right: the venerable Yellow is being dragged into the world of Web 2.0, the idea being that this will allow us to provide you with more frequent information on Informals activities as well as developing content in line with readers’ requests.

For now we’re going to run both the blog and the traditional format in parallel, but eventually the PDF newsletter will be discontinued, so don’t forget to bookmark the blog. You can also follow us via the Facebook page, on Twitter at @CIPAYellowSheet, or subscribe via email, Feedburner or your Google Reader (see the left sidebar), so watch out for updates as the great modernisation project takes shape.

If you have any comments or suggestions for new content or in general regarding the blog, I’d love to hear from you – email me on yellowsheeteditor[at]gmail.com. That’s all from me for now, but both Candice and I will be lurking at the New Members’ Induction at CIPA Hall on 14 December, so I hope to meet some of you there!
