Informals Foundation Lectures Continue

As many readers will know, each year the Informals’ Committee runs a series of lectures to introduce junior trainees to key areas in IP, and to help trainees at all levels to prepare for the UK and European exams.

The 2015 Informals’ Foundation Lectures continue to run on (most) Mondays at 5.30pm, at CIPA Hall. The lectures are also broadcast via WebEx for those who can’t attend in person. The WebEX login details are circulated by CIPA prior to the lecture, and are also made available on the CIPA website. In addition, recordings and notes are also made available on the CIPA website shortly after the lecture.

Lectures coming up soon include:

Monday 30 March 2015 – 5.30pm
(CIPA Hall and via WebEx)
Biotech Patents
Sarah Lau (Kilburn & Strode LLP)

Monday 27 April 2015 – 5.30pm
(CIPA Hall and via WebEx)
Basic English Law
Emily Mallam (Bird & Bird)

Monday 11 May 2015 – 5.30pm
(CIPA Hall and via WebEx)
PCT
Jane Hollywood (Olswang)

Monday 18 May 2015 – 5.30pm
(CIPA Hall and via WebEx)
Attacking Patents
Richard Howson (Kilburn & Strode LLP)

The Foundation Lectures are a great way for new trainees to learn more about patents, and also to meet trainees at other firms. Attendees are welcome to join the lecturer and organisers for drinks in the pub afterwards.

The full list of the Foundation lectures is made available on the CIPA website (http://www.cipa.org.uk/pages/2015-Foundation-Lectures) as they are confirmed. If you have any questions about the Foundation lecture series, please contact the Informals Foundation series Lecture Organisers, Rosie Jackson (rjackson@kilburnstrode.com) and Alexandra Seymour-Pierce (aspierce@kilburnstrode.com).
