- Foundation Lecture Organisers (x2) to organise our annual lecture series. The Foundation Lecture Organiser positions will suit patent trainees who are based in London. The role involves organising the very well-attended Foundation lectures, which run from January to July and which introduce new trainees to key topics in patent law, and IP more generally. The lectures take place once a week in the evenings at CIPA Hall, and the Organisers are required to attend the lecture to ensure it runs smoothly, and usually take the lecturer out for a drink afterwards! The lectures are also broadcast live, but the tech-side of things is handled by the very able staff at CIPA. The role would suit trainees who are new to the profession, since attendance of the lectures will also help their own training. (The role would not suit trainees who are attending the Queen Mary Course this Autumn).
- Advanced Lecture Organisers (x2) to organise our annual Advanced lecture series. You don’t need to be based in London for this role. The role involves organising our webinar-based Advanced lectures for both the PEB exams and the EQEs, in the run-up to the exams. The lectures are entirely webinar-based, and CIPA staff handle the tech stuff. The role would suit trainees who have been in the profession for at least a year.
- Education Coordinator (x1) to help our new Education Coordinator, Miranda , to organise non-exam-related training and post-qualification training, obtain feedback from trainees on exam- and training-related queries and concerns, and working with CIPA’s Education and Professional Standards Committee to ensure trainees’ education concerns are actioned.
Being on the Committee looks great on your CV and work appraisal forms, and it’s a chance for you to represent the student body of CIPA! If you would like to join the Committee or would like to know more about a particular position, please get in touch with me as soon as possible: firstname.lastname@example.org
