EQE 2016 – feedback to the Examination Secretariat on the Bristol venue

Trainees who sat one or more of the EQE papers this week should have received an email from the Examination Secretariat today inviting them to submit “first-hand accounts of the situation in Bristol” in view of the conditions in the exam venue this year.

It remains to be seen what consequences these first-hand accounts will have for this year’s candidates, e.g. whether it will be possible for candidates to be compensated in some way for the conditions.  However, I strongly encourage you to submit comments, at least for the benefit of candidates sitting EQE papers in future years.

I have submitted my own account, describing the temperature, the draught, the non-functioning sockets (and hence non-functioning electrical heaters) in some parts of the room, the fact that some of the heaters appeared to have been switched off overnight without explanation, and the hand dryer/hand towel issue at the start of the week.  I suggest you take this opportunity to let the Examination Secretariat know about the conditions in your part of the exam hall and how they affected you.

Ben

Honorary Secretary 2015-2016
