Basic Litigation Skills Course – Update

All UK Attorneys who qualified since 2013 are required to participate in a new examined “Basic Litigation Skills Course”, within three years from the end of the calendar year when they first entered onto the Register.

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that CIPA provided updated information on their Basic Litigation Skills Course last month (see here).  CIPA is currently trying to develop the course as its first ever accredited course and has sent a document outlining the proposed course to IPReg for approval.  CIPA expects feedback and approval by IPReg in October.  In brief, attorneys taking CIPA’s proposed course will be assessed by way of an exam set by PEB.

Until the CIPA course is available, you may wish to consider the Nottingham Trent Uni course – see here for details.
