Informals EQE Lectures 2015

The Informals’ EQE Lectures 2015 also begin in January. The EQE lectures will follow a similar format to last year, normally being on Monday lunchtimes (though we may expand to Thursdays as well to maximise the number of lectures). We have asked the lecturers to go through a recent paper (normally 2013/2014). You can listen live via WebEX and ask questions on the day, and the recordings will also go up on the CIPA website to listen to afterwards. Previous years’ lectures are also still on the CIPA website, should you find these useful.

A provisional timetable is as follows, though more lectures are planned and we will update once the Yellow Sheet blog and the CIPA website (http://www.cipa.org.uk/pages/2015-EQE-lectures) when we have confirmed with the lecturers:

Informals Foundation Lectures 2015

Each year, the Informals’ Committee runs a series of lectures to introduce junior trainees to key areas in IP, and to help trainees at all levels to prepare for the UK and European exams.

The 2015 Informals’ Foundation Lectures begin on Monday 12 January 2015 at 5.30pm, at CIPA Hall. The introductory lecture will be given by Gwilym Roberts (Kilburn & Strode) and Stuart Forrest (Carpmaels & Ransford). The lectures will also be broadcast via WebEx for those who can’t attend in person. The WebEX login details will be circulated by CIPA prior to the lecture, and are also made available on the CIPA website: http://www.cipa.org.uk/pages/2015-Foundation-Lectures. In addition, recordings and notes will be made available on the CIPA website shortly after the lecture.

Informals’ Foundation and EQE Lectures 2015

As many of you may know, the Informals’ Committee run a series of lectures each year to introduce trainees to key issues in IP and to prepare trainees for exams.

The 2015 Informals’ Foundation Lectures begin on Monday 12 January 2015 at 5.30pm, CIPA Hall. The introductory lecture will be given by Gwilym Roberts (Kilburn & Strode) and Stuart Forrest (Carpmaels & Ransford). The lectures will also be broadcast via WebEx for those who can’t attend in person. The WebEX login details will be circulated prior to the lecture and be made available on the CIPA website. In addition, recordings and notes will be made available on the CIPA website shortly after the lecture (http://www.cipa.org.uk/pages/informals). The Foundation Lectures are a great way for new trainees to learn more about patents, and also to meet trainees at other firms. Attendees are welcome to join the lecturer and organisers for drinks in the pub afterwards.
Trainees preparing for the EQEs may be interested in the 2015 Informals’ EQE Lectures, which will also begin in January. These will likely be webinar-based lectures that take place over lunchtimes. Typically, each webinar will focus on a specific exam paper from a previous year. Keep an eye on the blog for more details.
