London Social – Pub Crawl 16 November

Hello everyone

Welcome to the start of a new year of the CIPA Informals social calendar!

First of all, please make sure you are:

i) signed up to the Yellow Sheet blog (you can sign up on this page) and, if you have Facebook,

ii) a member of the Informals Facebook group (which you are warmly invited to post to and/or otherwise actively use).

Secondly, there will be a welcome social event on the evening of Thursday 16 November at 6.30pm. If people who have recently taken UK exams need extra motivation to come out and socialise, the event can also be regarded as post-UK exam drinks. The event will be an ‘historic’ pub crawl around the Holborn/Chancery Lane area, with pub grub along the way. Full details will follow in the next couple of days but we will start near Holborn at 6.30pm.

If people could kindly indicate their intention to come along or not, either by responding appropriately to the Facebook event, or by getting back to us via email (at james.o.hamp@gmail.com), that would be great!

Looking forward to seeing many of you there–don’t be shy!

Cheers

Women in IP is turning one! Please celebrate our anniversary with us and join us at our next event, proudly hosted by CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP.

We will stage a lively panel discussion followed by the chance, from 6-8 pm, for you to network with your peers from across the profession. We welcome IP professionals of all genders.

Our discussion topic is “Climbing up the career ladder”, on which we will hear from the following speakers:

These panellists will talk to us about climbing up the career ladder, including hurdles they have encountered along the way and what others did to help them progress, along with how to manage the work/life balance in the IP professions. We hope also to open the discussions to the audience, to stimulate further debate.

This event is free, but spaces are limited so please book soon.  Book tickets here.

Message from the PEB : Candidate Feedback

Changes to candidate feedback and support  – effective from the October 2017 examinations

In response to candidate requests and feedback the PEB will, on results day, present  to each candidate a breakdown of the marks awarded per question/section for each examination undertaken.

In addition, the sample scripts published on the PEB website will show the examiner’s annotations, in addition to the overall mark awarded, and the marks by question or section.

A notice about these changes dated 11 October, is posted here  on the PEB website, and two of the PEB policies (Return of Assessment Policy and Publication of Results Policy) have been slightly amended, as explained in the notice and as  published.
