EQE updated information for candidates

The Examination Secretariat has released an updated document entitled Instructions to candidates concerning the conduct of the European qualifying examination. Some new questions have also been added to the FAQ. Please make sure you read all the available information in full (don’t rely on second-hand information from blogs!).

A few of the key points in the instructions document are:

  • The camera should be positioned centred above or below the frame of the active screen, but not more than 5 cm away from it – so it’s preferable to use an external webcam if you are using an external monitor.
  • Cover any windows behind you, and don’t have a light source behind you pointed at the camera.
  • There is a new requirement to verify the software before starting the flow each day.
  • It is recommended to log on 60 minutes before the exam starts.
  • If you have issues, email helpdesk@eqe.org after the exam and before the end of the day.

Pete Pollard has posted a detailed analysis of the technical requirements on Salted Patent blog here.

Remember to join the EQE information session tomorrow (3pm to 4.30pm GMT).
